After completing 7 years as a recovery mechanic in the Armed Forces and 10 years as an operator in the underground mining industry, Ty longed for challenges and opportunities the role of a Rescue Crew Officer could provide. As a keen spear fisherman, Ty appreciates the necessity of having reliable emergency services especially over our coastal communities. Whether it’s winching an injured person from a hazardous area or ensuring the aircraft has been prepared daily, Ty is motivated by the knowledge he is providing a vital, lifesaving service to the people of Central Queensland.
