25 years ago, John Bavea had a dream that a service was needed to keep the people of Central Queensland safe, in a region as diverse as it is vast. It was the beginning of RACQ CapRescue.
On Friday July 16th, we celebrated this achievement, and a fantastic night was had by all at the RACQ CapRescue 25th Anniversary Ball presented by QMAG.
Over 370 people; gathered at the Rockhampton Leagues Club to celebrate the incredible milestones we have achieved across our 25years of operations.
One of which was the arrival of the modern and more capable AgustaWestland 139 (AW139) helicopter to the Rescue300 fleet.
Guests were treated to canapes and drinks while the new aircraft shone in the background, thanks to our pre-event sponsor DC Motors.
Then the festivities moved upstairs for dinner, drinks and inspirational speeches from special guests including the founding force of John Bavea and past patient Alison Hugo.
Some lucky attendees were able to get their hands on the much sort after raffle balloons, which contained some amazing prizes from the wonderful community that support us.
DC Motors and High Point Access were the big winners of the night in the silent auction, scoring the opportunity to fly in the new 139 helicopter.
All that was left was for The Short Fall to fill the dancefloor and they didn’t disappoint!
A night such as this cannot happen without support, from our table sponsors Hastings Deering, Kestrel Coal Resources, Hillcrest Rockhampton Private Hospital, Stanwell, Coxons Group Australia, Kitchen Design CQ and Hutchinson Builders and the many Rescue300 members that attended.
To our Naming Rights Sponsor, QMag; Pre-Dinner Event Sponsor, DC Motors Rockhampton; and Gold Partner, Babcock Mission Critical Services. All of which have contributed a sensational level of support of the event and the service.
