In early October, the 4th annual Resources Charity Golf Day was held at the Yeppoon Golf Club in aid of RACQ CapRescue. The event, organised by Hastings Deering Rockhampton, raised over $14,000 for the Service.
Hastings Deering’s Central Queensland Area Manager Peter Martin said the company had helped raise almost $50,000 over the last four years of commitment to RACQ CapRescue.
Mr Martin said RACQ CapRescue provided immeasurable peace of mind to the community providing an invaluable service to the area and surrounding communities.
“There have been countless times we have seen the team at work, whether it is a car crash or winching flood affected townsfolk to safety,” he said. “The service is paramount to the community.
“As one of the largest employers in Rockhampton and the Capricorn Coast and a workforce that supports the CQ region, we believe in giving back to the community in which we live and work. The event also creates a competition opportunity for the Yeppoon Golf Club (not for profit club) which assists them through sales on the day, creating many positive outcomes.”
Community Fundraising Officer, Caitlin Buttenshaw, says events such as these are integral to the operations of the Service. “RACQ CapRescue relies on 40% of its funding to be raised through the community by businesses such as Hastings Deering and events like the annual Resources Charity Golf Day.”
The team at RACQ CapRescue would like to thank Hastings Deering Rockhampton for their ongoing support and commitment towards our Service.
