‘LIFT OFF’ for RACQ CapRescue Partnership

The Rookwood Weir Project continues to be a proud Lift Off partner for RACQ CapRescue.

This commitment ensures we can continue our world-class service, providing rapid deployment of medical or rescue teams to major accidents or search and rescue operations.

Queensland Water Minister Glenn Butcher MP and Member for Rockhampton Barry O’Rourke joined Operations Manager Kirsty Wooler and Rookwood Alliance Manager Tino Ferrero at the CapRescue hangar in August.

This was also the month that marked a significant achievement as the project clocked up one million hours of activity building the weir and completing the Riverslea Bridge construction, Thirsty Creek Road and Capricorn Highway upgrades. The Rookwood Alliance is delighted to support our lifesaving helicopter rescue service for over 300,000 people throughout our region of more than 350,000 km2.
