Yarrabee’s Community Support Program Benefits CapRescue

The strong relationship between Yancoal’s Yarrabee Coal Mine and RACQ CapRescue has continued to grow with Community Engagement Officer Kim Moss visiting the site as part of their Toolbox program.

A proud ‘Lift Off Partner’ Yancoal Yarrabee contributes to the rescue service through their Community Support Program, which aims to make a positive difference in the local community and to the lives of the people who work and live in the areas it operates. This has been bolstered by the encouragement of their employees to donate further through workplace giving.

“We are grateful to Yarrabee for the opportunity to talk more with staff about RACQ CapRescue, in particular the benefits of workplace giving for our organisation,” said Kim Moss.

“Whilst most people in Central Queensland are aware of CapRescue, having a chance to speak in more detail and show videos portraying staff and even patient testimonials, helps to increase awareness of the lifesaving service we deliver”.

Through 8 toolbox talks including Mining and Maintenance crews, staff listened intently, often surprised by the numbers outlaid about the organisation.

A number of staff members also shared stories of their own interactions with RACQ CapRescue.

Yarrabee Coal Operations Manager, Cris Shadbolt said, “We are proud to have such a strong partnership with RACQ Capricorn Rescue and have them onsite sharing their amazing rescue patient stories. Our team are always happy to hear about opportunities where they can support this critical service. Yarrabee is all about building a better and stronger community and by working closely with RACQ Capricorn Rescue, we are contributing to improving the safety of Yarrabee employees as well as the people in the community where we operate.”

Operations Manager for RACQ Capricorn Rescue, Kirsty Wooler, said “Yarrabee’s continued partnership with our service, ensures that we have the capacity to continue operating as a regional health network provider delivering an essential service in Central Queensland.

We applaud Yarrabee’s commitment to supporting the communities in which they operate and thank them for their continued support.”
