Colour Splash Raises Funds

Over 500 people turned out for Colour Me Capricorn on Sunday March 30th, making the event a massive success in support of CapRescue. Presented by CleanCo, the event saw the Kershaw Gardens transform into a rainbow of colour, all in the name of fun, fitness, and fundraising.

As the event approached, concerns about the weather quickly disappeared. The skies cleared, and the sun came out, welcoming participants from across Central Queensland to run, walk, skip, and stroll through colourful clouds.

Colour Me Capricorn is more than just a fun run; it is a community-driven event that helps support the vital work of CapRescue. This year, the event raised an incredible $20,000, which will go towards helping keep Rescue300 in the air and providing lifesaving emergency response to those in need.

CapRescue Chief Executive Darren Pirie said it was fantastic to see so many families at the event.

“This event is one of the biggest Colour Runs we’ve had in years. Everyone’s had an amazing time,” Mr. Pirie said.

“Everywhere I go, people have a story—whether it’s their own experience with CapRescue or a family member or friend who has needed our service. That strong community connection is what makes CapRescue so successful, and ultimately, it’s what helps save lives.”

Events such as these cannot happen without dedicated volunteers, the participants and the generous sponsors who help make this day possible. CapRescue would like to thank everyone who was involved especially CleanCo, Rockhampton Regional Council, Jamax Industries, Blackwoods, and Greenleaf Renewables for their invaluable support.
