Powerlink Reaches For The Sky With New Partnership

CapRescue is proud to welcome Powerlink Queensland as a Blue Sky Partner, reinforcing a shared commitment to safety and community wellbeing. This three-year partnership will help ensure our critical aeromedical service continues to provide lifesaving care to Central Queenslanders.

Powerlink General Manager of Communications, Customer and Engagement, Gerard Reilly, highlighted the importance of access to rapid response medical care in regional areas.

“Safety of the community – and our people – is in Powerlink’s DNA,” Mr Reilly said. “We recognise the need for regional Queenslanders to have access to a free, state-of-theart medical service. With our growing presence in Central Queensland, we are proud to support CapRescue in delivering this essential care.”

CapRescue operates two helicopters, providing 24/7 emergency response across an area of 350,000 square kilometres. Our crews respond to major crashes, workplace incidents, medical emergencies, and disaster relief, ensuring critical care reaches those who need it most.

CapRescue CEO Darren Pirie expressed deep appreciation for Powerlink’s commitment to the service.

“We are incredibly grateful for Powerlink Queensland’s generous support as a Blue Sky Partner,” Mr Pirie said. “This partnership is instrumental in helping our crews continue to deliver lifesaving care across the region. Powerlink’s focus on safety aligns with our mission to be there for the community whenever we’re needed.”

Corporate partnerships like this are vital to ensuring CapRescue remains mission-ready at all times. Support from businesses such as Powerlink enables us to invest in advanced medical equipment, crew training, and aircraft maintenance, allowing us to deliver the highest standard of care to those in need. These contributions directly impact the lives of Central Queenslanders, providing peace of mind that emergency assistance is always within reach.

As a community-based, not-for-profit charity, CapRescue relies on the generosity of corporate partners and the public to keep our helicopters in the air.
