National Volunteer Week 2024 is here, and this year’s theme, ‘Something for Everyone,’ highlights the diverse possibilities of volunteering. From 20th-26th May, RACQ CapRescue and many other communities across Australia come together to recognise the invaluable contributions of volunteers and inspire others to join the movement.
In 2023, the dedicated StepUp CapRescue volunteers, with the fantastic support of Thiess, generously contributed over 1,000 hours of their time. Whether through lending a hand in the office, at events, or by sharing skills and resources, our volunteers have shown that there is truly #SomethingForEveryone in our StepUp program.
Community Engagement Officer Sharyn Truelson expressed her gratitude, stating that volunteers are the heart of RACQ CapRescue.
“Together with Thiess, we appreciate their passion and dedication as it helps to keep us flying,” said Mrs. Truelson. “We welcome anyone interested in finding out more to get in touch; we offer opportunities for everyone.”
While the advantages to the organisation are obvious, those involved in the program admit it also benefits them as individuals.
StepUp CapRescue volunteer Katrin Bahn said it’s not all about duties; it’s also about fun.
“I like to be a little part of the turning wheel to help and get the needed funds together for CapRescue,” said Ms. Bahn. “I have done many things, some that make you go a little bit out of your comfort zone, and that’s when you experience your own joy.”
New members are welcome to join the StepUp CapRescue program supported by Thiess. There are plenty of ways to get involved and contribute to the mission of making a real difference in our community.
