Colour Me Capricorn Emerald - a colourful success!

For the first time ever, Colour Me Capricorn Emerald exploded with colour across the Central Highlands Region on Sunday 7th May.
The turnout from the community was outstanding with over 250 participants from around the area taking part in the most colourful event to hit the region. Participants ran, walked, danced, or strolled their way along the garden path creating a vibrant atmosphere in the Emerald Botanic Gardens.
“It was great to see so many people, of all ages, coming out on their Sunday morning to support RACQ CapRescue,” Community Fundraising Officer Caitlin Buttenshaw stated. “Everyone walked away coloured from head to toe with huge smiles plastered on their faces.”
The success of Colour Me Capricorn relies heavily on the support of volunteers and the Emerald community did not disappoint with over 20 people putting up their hand to volunteer on the day. “We are very grateful to the Emerald community for stepping up and giving our CapRescue volunteers a helping hand at Colour Me Capricorn,” Caitlin said. “In particular we would like to thank the teams at Blackwoods, Central Highlands Regional Council, and the Emerald Cadet Unit for volunteering.”
The event was a colourful success raising over $6,000 for RACQ CapRescue. All proceeds from the event will assist with the operational costs associated with RACQ CapRescue. We are required to raise over 40% of our annual costs through sponsorships, donations, and events such as this.
Colour Me Capricorn Emerald would not have been possible without the support from our wonderful sponsors including Central Highlands Regional Council, Kestrel Coal Resources, and Blackwoods.
We are grateful for the fantastic support we received from our sponsors, volunteers, and the amazing Central Highlands community. The team at RACQ CapRescue are already looking forward to next year’s event, hoping it will be bigger and better!
