The CBD Christmas Fair was back in 2022, bigger and better than ever. The event took place in a new location along Quay Street and the Riverfront Precinct. The heart of the Rockhampton City was alive with thousands of people celebrating the spirit of Christmas.
The free community event marked the start of the festive season and consisted of live entertainment, food vans, market stalls, an appearance from Santa, a petting zoo, soft play area, face painting, and more.
Site holder Fresh Thailicious Delights was happy with the change in location and also noted the positive community atmosphere.
“From our perspective (CapRescue) really made good use of the venue, creating space for visitors to enjoy the total experience,” said event catering specialist Steve.
“We sincerely hope that the positive effect (of) the event (felt) by the community is returned in-kind through gratitude and respect for the conscientious work performed by RACQ CapRescue in creating a safer society.”
A moment enjoyed by the crowd was the lighting of the Rockhampton Regional Council Christmas Tree. The crowd flocked to watch the tree light up, a sign that Santa is just around the corner!
CapRescue would like to thank our sponsors Rockhampton Regional Council, Stanwell, Blackwoods, and Central Queensland Today, our exhibitors, the community who attended, our performers from Capricornia Silver Band, Sabaya Bellydance, Capricorn School of Dancing, Rockhampton Pipe Band, and Damo, and of course our wonderful team of volunteers! This event would not have been possible without the support of our dedicated StepUp CapRescue volunteers who worked tirelessly throughout the day and night to make this event happen. Without them, this event simply would not happen.
