Support Remains Strong from Gladstone Community

ConocoPhillips Australia, downstream operator of the Australia Pacific LNG facility, is our long-standing High Altitude Partner sponsoring our first community helicopter landing in Gladstone in 2016 and has continued to do so every year since. Their support has provided RACQ CapRescue with the opportunity to connect with the Gladstone community, inspiring us to host events such as the Gladstone Community Open Day.

The Gladstone Community Open Day, held on Sunday 12th September, boasted a fun, exciting and educational event that showcased our local Emergency Service crews. Attendees were eager to chat and take happy snaps with the crews from RACQ CapResuce, Volunteer Marine Rescue Gladstone, Gladstone SES and the QLD Police Service. Speaking with first responders provided attendees with a fantastic insight into the role our service, and other Emergency Services play within their community.

Our Community Fundraising Officer, Caitlin Buttenshaw stated “ConocoPhillips Australia is a fantastic supporter of both our service and the Gladstone community. Their support of this event provided us the opportunity to educate the community on the vital role that we play and share the impact that our service has on so many within the Gladstone region.”

Nataly Fay, ConocoPhillips Australia Community Relations Coordinator, Nataly Fay said “Safety is our priority at ConocoPhillips Australia as it is within the Gladstone community.

Events like the Open Day allow our community to learn more about the rescue services available here in Central Queensland but also, the importance of what CapRescue does 365 days a year.”
