Today the #RACQ #CapRescue crew bid farewell to our Community Fundraising Officer Caitlin Buttenshaw.

Since 2017, Caitlin has been an invaluable part of the team, and we will miss her smile and wealth of knowledge (😬 please come back!!).

The aeromedical capabilities of #RACQ #CapRescue were in demand on the weekend. With multiple tasks issued to the #Rescue300 crew over 2 days, the team transported patients right across our 350,000 km2 region.

Starting with a 2 motor vehicle accident near Clairview on Saturday morning. The crew stabilised a male patient in his sixties suffering from suspected abdominal injuries. He was taken to Rockhampton Hospital for further treatment.

Late Saturday afternoon, the service was required at a beach north of 1770 to attend a single-vehicle accident. Sadly efforts to rescue the driver were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced deceased on the scene.

For the remainder of the weekend, interfacility transfer kept the crew busy. They completed trips to Thangool and Gladstone to deliver patients to Rockhampton Hospital for more specialised treatment.

For the RACQ CapRescue crew, a weekend like this can be challenging. However, they all confess it is the thought of coming to work every day to do whatever they can to help the Central Queensland community that makes it one of the best jobs in the world.

We continue to be overwhelmed by the generosity and community spirit constantly shown in our region.

Recently the Dingo Rodeo & Campdraft Association donated $10,000 to #RACQ #CapRescue after their very successful event this year!

The George Hoare Memorial Cutout Challenge 🌟 was won by horse and rider combo Les Stewart and Hazelwood Flight Command.
